About Steamgears

Steamgears is a workshop for anyone who wants to build steampunk costumes with their own hands – and a small shop for the gear that finishes the look.

What we do

We publish step-by-step DIY steampunk costume guides: goggles, corsets, jackets, props and full outfits built from thrift-store finds, foam, leather, brass paint and patience. Every guide is written to be buildable on a kitchen table with common tools – no workshop required.

  • DIY guides – detailed build walkthroughs with materials lists
  • Budget builds – steampunk style without the collector price tag
  • Gallery – real convention looks for inspiration
  • The shop – ready-made steampunk gear when you would rather buy than build

Why steampunk?

Steampunk is the rare cosplay genre where the rule is: if it looks like it could run on steam, it belongs. Brass, leather, clockwork and a story. You do not need to be a master craftsman to make something you are proud to wear – you need a plan and a Saturday afternoon.

Have a build you want us to cover, or a question about a guide? Head over to the contact page – we read everything.
